December 29, 2022 – Chicago, IL – LaSalle Capital (“LaSalle”) is pleased to announce the sale of its portfolio company, Fresh Origins (“Fresh Origins” or the “Company”), to an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. (“Sun Capital”), a global private equity firm. Fresh Origins, headquartered in San Marcos, CA, is a leading grower and shipper of microgreens and edible flowers, serving over 350 foodservice distributors, restaurants and retailers nationally. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
Fresh Origins’ CEO, Norma St. Amant, will continue to lead the Company in its next phase of growth. Under LaSalle’s ownership, Fresh Origins strengthened its senior management team, further expanded its leading position in the foodservice market and successfully entered the retail channel, more than doubling sales and tripling earnings over its 4.5-year investment period. Ms. St. Amant stated, “LaSalle provided strategic support, marketing knowledge and capital resources that helped us accelerate our growth plan. We greatly valued the partnership and expertise that allowed our management team to execute at a higher level.”
